Kory grew up in Michigan and moved to North Carolina in 2004. In 2015, she received a B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Human Services from Appalachian State University. Throughout college, Kory spent her summers, weekends, and holiday breaks working at a local year-round and summer camp program for folks of all ages on the autism spectrum. Post-college, Kory continued working at camp as a full-time, year-round staff member fulfilling various roles: providing direct care, activity planning and implementation, community outreach and education, and ongoing staff training. Along with her enthusiasm for supporting folks with IDD/Autism, Kory has a passion for environmental sustainability and spent several years traveling around, working in various farming and conservation roles. In her free time, Kory enjoys swimming, hiking, climbing, gardening, biking, and cooking meals with friends.
