Brooklynn Slabaugh grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and relocated to North Carolina in 2016. Her passion for disability advocacy began at a young age while growing up with a brother who had cerebral palsy. That early experience shaped her commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Now as a mother of three children, one of whom is autistic, she can continue that advocacy and bring both personal and professional insight into the importance of strong support systems and inclusive services.
She began her career with Triangle Disability and Autism Services in 2025 as a Direct Support Professional and later served as Lead Staff in the Day Program. She is passionate about language and AAC, and she is thrilled to work in an environment where communication access is prioritized and everyone is empowered to express themselves in ways that work best for them. Brooklynn is excited to support day services in a new way as Day Services Coordinator!
Brooklynn’s educational background includes studies in theatre, art, website design and American Sign Language. In her free time, she enjoys painting murals, reading, volunteering with the PTA and watching Gilmore Girls!
